The Hartage Foundation

The Hartage Foundation is a place where compassion meets action. Founded by community leaders and philanthropists Homer and Rosemary Hartage, the non-profit organization is built on a deep belief in care, connection, and collective responsibility.

We work hand in hand with families, caregivers, and partners to uplift lives through education, professional guardianship, and learning opportunities. Every effort we make is guided by our love for community and the vision of a world where everyone has the support they need to live with dignity and purpose.

Our work is not just about charity; it is about building a culture of community care that brings lasting hope to every generation.

What We Do

AgedCare Guardianship & Fiduciary Services

At AgedCare Guardianship, we provide professional guardianship and fiduciary services for individuals who need trusted support and guidance during life’s most vulnerable moments.

Whether aging, living with disabilities, or navigating complex personal challenges, our clients receive care that is rooted in respect, dignity, and compassion.

STEM & Caregiver Education Scholarships

The Hartage Foundation Scholarships for STEM & Caregiver Support Education open doors of opportunity for African American students and aspiring caregivers alike.

Our STEM Education Fund empowers future innovators in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, while our Caregiver Support Education Fund uplifts those dedicated to compassionate service in healthcare and elder care.

Advocacy For Dementia & Alzheimer’s Disease

Our Advocacy Programs focus on education, awareness, and policy advocacy, helping communities understand the realities of memory loss while promoting best practices in caregiving and support.

We partner with healthcare providers, caregivers, and family members to champion access to quality care, informed decision-making, and emotional well-being.

Advocacy For Caregiver Support & Training

Behind every individual receiving care stands a caregiver — a devoted advocate, family member, or professional who gives their time, patience, and heart.

At the Hartage Foundation, we recognize the immense value and emotional weight of caregiving. Our Advocacy for Caregiver Support and Training program is dedicated to empowering caregivers through education, resources, and community connections.

The Heart of
Our Mission

Our mission is to serve our communities with compassion, care, and purpose. We protect those who cannot protect themselves, nurture students through education, and create opportunities that lift families out of hardship.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple truth – when we care for one another, our communities grow stronger, and hope becomes something we can all share.

Special Volunteering Needs

Senior Visitation

Loneliness is one of the quietest struggles faced by many seniors. Through our Senior Visitation Program, volunteers bring warmth, friendship, and genuine conversation to older adults who may be isolated or living in care facilities. Sharing stories, reading, or simply spending quality time brings light into their day and reminds them that they are seen, valued, and loved.

Join us in spreading companionship and joy – one visit at a time.

Adopt-A-Senior

The Adopt-A-Senior Program pairs volunteers or families with seniors in need of ongoing support and connection. This unique initiative encourages meaningful, long-term relationships that go beyond occasional visits. Volunteers may assist with errands, birthday surprises, or phone check-ins – simple gestures that bring tremendous comfort and belonging.

Adopt a senior, and gain a lifelong friend while making a difference that lasts.
