Ways To Volunteer
Volunteering with the Hartage Foundation is more than giving your time — it is joining a network of people committed to compassion, service, and community. Our volunteers support programs ranging from guardianship care to educational initiatives, making a direct difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Individual Volunteer
Individual volunteers are at the heart of our mission. Whether you dedicate a few hours a week or participate in a one-time event, your time and attention help us provide care, guidance, and educational opportunities to those who need it most.
Volunteering as an individual allows you to directly connect with the programs, understand the challenges of those we serve, and witness the positive difference your actions create.

Student Volunteers
Students bring energy, creativity, and fresh ideas to the Hartage Foundation. Volunteering as a student offers not only a way to give back to the community but also valuable experience, personal growth, and the chance to develop leadership and teamwork skills.

Volunteer As A Group
Volunteering as a group is a wonderful way to combine teamwork, camaraderie, and community service. Clubs, organizations, workplaces, or groups of friends can participate together to support our programs, organize events, and help reach more people in need.
Group volunteering builds strong connections among participants while amplifying the impact of your time and energy. Working together, you create a bigger wave of hope and positive change.

Special Volunteering Needs
Our Special Volunteering Needs programs are designed to connect caring individuals with meaningful opportunities that directly touch lives. Whether through companionship, outreach, or behind-the-scenes support, your time and presence can make a lasting difference in someone’s life — as every hour you spend volunteering helps strengthen families, uplift students, and build a culture of care that spans generations. We work to match your passion and talents with the right opportunities so you can have the most meaningful impact possible.

Senior Visitation
Loneliness is one of the quietest struggles faced by many seniors. Through our Senior Visitation Program, volunteers bring warmth, friendship, and genuine conversation to older adults who may be isolated or living in care facilities. Sharing stories, reading, or simply spending quality time brings light into their day and reminds them that they are seen, valued, and loved.
Join us in spreading companionship and joy —
one visit at a time.
Adopt-A-Senior Program
The Adopt-A-Senior Program pairs volunteers or families with seniors in need of ongoing support and connection. This unique initiative encourages meaningful, long-term relationships that go beyond occasional visits. Volunteers may assist with errands, birthday surprises, or phone check-ins — simple gestures that bring tremendous comfort and belonging.
Adopt a senior, and gain a lifelong friend while making a difference that lasts.

Administrative Support
Not all heroes wear capes — some organize schedules, manage data, or help coordinate community events. Our Administrative Support Volunteers play a vital role in keeping the Hartage Foundation’s programs running smoothly. From office tasks to event preparation, your skills behind the scenes help strengthen our outreach and expand our impact.
Your organizational talents can help us reach more people and create meaningful change every day.
Homer Hartage Books & Publications
Homer L. Hartage is the author of Family & Professional Guardianship, a practical guide for navigating the guardianship process, and The Memory Box: Charlotte’s Big Surprise, a children’s book that gently explains Alzheimer’s disease and memory loss to young children.
