Akylah Cox 2017 Hartage Foundation Scholarship Awardee
Akylah Cox is an exceptional student, she is has been accepted to Duke University for the 2017 school year and will be studying environmental engineering. She received a $1,000.00 competitive scholarship and assistance with additional college funding sources.
A Life Of Achievement And Service
Akylah, is a graduate of Dr. Phillips High School, Orlando, Florida. She participated in the Dr. Philips High Dance Magnet Program was Secretary of the Student Council, a member of the National Honor Society, National Honor Society for Dance Arts, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society and the Columbia University Engineering Institute.
While serving her school and student body Akylah was active in numerous community projects. Her varied community service included, Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs Youth Leadership Conference, Second Harvest Food Bank and the Ronald McDonald House Share-A-Meal program.
Akylah Cox graduated high school with a 4.92 GPA. She is exemplary of the goals and objectives of The Hartage Foundation STEM Scholarship Fund.
